Urban wetland parks play a crucial ecological role, including regulating local microclimates, preserving biodiversity, and recharging groundwater. However, there is currently a lack of in-depth discussion on planning and design concepts as well as landscape design techniques for urban wetland park development. This paper first clarifies the relationships among symbols, semiotics, and landscape language symbols, analyzes the three dimensions of landscape symbolic language, and proposes the implications of linguistic semiotics for landscape design. Through relevant case studies, it summarizes the planning principles for urban wetland parks. Finally, after investigating the current status of Dafeng Wetland Park, the paper analyzes the design techniques of wetland landscapes using relevant linguistic theories. The research results show that applying the relatively mature theories of linguistic semiotics can effectively provide scientific and rational design methods and achieve favorable design outcomes.
