With the development of the digital economy, the digital transformation of cultural and tourism enterprises has become a critical issue. Value co-creation on digital platforms, as a new value creation model, significantly impacts this transformation. This paper aims to explore the core mechanisms through which digital platform value co-creation and affect the digital transformation of cultural and tourism enterprises, along with key challenges and coping strategies. Employing a combined methodology of literature analysis, embedded case study analysis, and theoretical deduction, four typical cases were selected for study: Ctrip empowered Shanghai Jinjiang International Hotels Group, Meituan empowered Xi’an Tang Paradise scenic area, and two others. The research finds that digital platforms build collaborative networks by connecting multiple actors. Value co-creation drives the digital transformation of cultural and tourism enterprises through four mechanisms: demand insight, resource integration, capability reconfiguration, and ecological synergy, with the capability reconfiguration mechanism being the core mediator. This study constructs an integrated “platform-co-creation-transformation” framework, deepening the understanding of the relationship between these three elements and the mediating role of dynamic capabilities. It provides practical insights for cultural and tourism enterprises, platforms, and policymakers, and points out directions for future research.
