The integration of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) remote sensing, virtual reality (VR) panoramic display, and artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative paradigm for urban-rural spatial governance. However, existing research predominantly concentrates on single-technology applications within isolated contexts, lacking systematic examination of cross-scenario technology transfer. This paper proposes and validates a tripartite technological framework integrating UAV, VR and AI technologies. It further verifies the practical applicability of the framework via two typical engineering cases. The first case is the “Yunshang E-village”, an immersive rural e-commerce empowerment platform. It adopts UAV aerial photography and VR panoramic technology to connect idle rural resources with consumer markets, effectively solving the market docking dilemma of underdeveloped traditional villages. The second case refers to the “Intelligent Wing Building Inspection”, an intelligent facade damage detection system tailored for super high-rise buildings. Combined with improved YOLOv5 Large (YOLOv5l) algorithms and edge computing technology, this system realizes automatic building defect identification and standard compliance diagnosis. Empirical findings demonstrate that in the rural context, VR panoramic technology increased visitor arrivals by 45.00%-120.00% and monthly e-commerce sales of agricultural specialty products by 256.00%-339.00% across four partner villages. In the urban building inspection context, the system achieved 95.80% defect recognition accuracy, compressed inspection time for a 150-meter building from 3 days to under 3 hours, reduced costs by 82.40%, and lowered the miss rate to below 2.00%. This study contributes a comparative analytical framework for understanding cross-scenario technology transfer and provides practical pathways for digital transformation in both rural revitalization and urban safety governance.
